Sandys has announced that it has consigned the children’s department store, Sandys Consignment, to a boutique in London.
The retailer said it would be opening the new boutique in 2018, adding that it will be “the largest children’s boutique in the UK”.
The boutique will be located in the Kensington Palace Hotel.

The boutique will have shops, restaurants, and a children’s clothing and accessories store, according to Sandys.
The boutique is located at the Kensal Greenway in the hotel.
Sandys announced last year that it had closed the childrens department store in the West End of London, citing an increase in demand for children’s apparel and accessories.
The department store was closed in October 2017, but reopened in May 2018.
Sandies announced that in 2018 it had also opened a childrens fashion store, which has yet to open.
Sandys said the Kensals new boutique will “focus on bringing new customers to the Kenshalys brand and its diverse range of products”.

The Kensals brand has been in the news recently following the resignation of the CEO and former CEO of its parent company, JCPenney, following allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
Last week, the family of a young boy who died at a Sandys store in California said that Sandys had failed to protect children and staff from a “coronavirus pandemic” at its stores in California.
In April, Sandies said it had hired a consultant to examine the company’s operations and performance, but it later told Reuters it had not completed its work.
It has been the subject of multiple high-profile controversies, including the resignation in April of former CEO Mark Korda following a probe into his alleged role in the deaths of three children in California in the past decade.
