Dwayne “The Rock” Wade is reportedly set to return home to Orlando to help the Orlando Magic with their NBA Finals quest.
Wade, who has been with the Magic since they signed him to a $40 million deal in 2010, is currently in Los Angeles for the NBA Finals.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wade was heading back to Orlando and was scheduled to play against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
He was expected to join Orlando’s front office for a press conference on Thursday.
A source told ESPN’s Chris Broussard that Wade is expected to announce his decision for the Orlando team in the coming days.
Sources told Broustard the decision to return was based on Wade wanting to return and his relationship with Magic President John Hammond.
This is the first time Wade has played in a Finals game since 2009, when he scored 41 points in the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Since then, Wade has struggled to score in the postseason, averaging only 10.7 points per game.
He was dealt to the Cleveland Browns in the Dwight Howard trade last season.
Wade has missed the last two Finals because of a groin injury.
